British politics doesn’t have much affection for great ideas, nor for the people who have them. Wouldn’t it be nice to change all that?
In our current political system, ideas have to be categorised as belonging to the right or the left. Isn’t it time time we assessed ideas on their merits?
The left/right divide is largely a distraction from good ideas. There are better ideas about how we might live and organise society, but neither the Labour Party nor the Tories take any interest in them. Britain’s lumbering two party system creates an impediment to real progress.
And finally, this one – which at its end has this idea:
“Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.”
